Personal Overview

I am a mathematician and educator with a deep passion for Fractal Geometry and its applications. I currently serve as Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, where I teach, mentor students, and conduct research in fractals, fractal interpolation functions, fractal measure theory, iterated function systems, approximation theory, and wavelets.

My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli, followed by an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Anna University, Chennai. I earned my PhD in Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and subsequently held positions at Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, and The NorthCap University before joining Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati.

Over the years, my research has focused on developing and analysing fractal interpolation functions, hidden-variable fractal models, self-affine measures, harmonic functions on fractals, and related topics. I have had the privilege of guiding doctoral students and presenting my work at several international conferences.

Beyond research and teaching, I actively contribute to academic and cultural life through mentoring, women’s empowerment initiatives, and the promotion of Indian arts and heritage. I have a deep passion for Bharatanatyam, having trained from the age of three and performed in several sabhas in Chennai after my arangetram at the age of six. During my college years, I enjoyed crafting soft toys, and I currently pursue interests in Carnatic music and badminton. As an active volunteer with Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), I continue to support and celebrate India’s rich cultural traditions. I enjoy interacting with people, discussing new ideas, and fostering meaningful collaborations. I believe that mathematics is not only a powerful language for understanding complexity but also a source of creativity, beauty, and inspiration.
